Vanessa was born on 14 August 1999, and for 24 years, 7 months and 7 days she filled our lives with extraordinary love and light. She was the most wonderful and deeply loved daughter, sister, granddaughter and friend - kind, principled, generous and full of fun.

She made us laugh, stood up for what was right, and loved her family and friends unconditionally. Everyone who met Vanessa felt her warmth and adored her, and she has left a space in our lives that can never be filled. Vanessa was active, health-conscious and, by every outward sign, completely well.

On what began as an ordinary day - 21 March 2024 - our world changed forever. Vanessa passed away suddenly and unexpectedly from a Sudden Cardiac Arrest. The cause was a genetic cardiac condition called Long QT syndrome. We had never heard of it before it took her from us.

While the grief remains, so does our love - and our determination to honour Vanessa’s life with purpose. Vanessa’s legacy will not only be love - it will be awareness, action and the saving of others.

In loving memory of our much loved Vanessa, always and forever in our hearts.
